Facts
Dogs may be exposed to and become infected with roundworms, hookworms, tapeworms and other parasites throughout the year. Consequently, stages capable of transmitting parasites can be shed into the environment, regardless of season or climate. (Reprinted from CAPC Guidelines. For more information on pets and parasites, visit www.petsandparasites.org.)
As the rice-like segments are shed in the feces, some may remain under the dog’s tail. Owners often find these white, wiggling segments on their carpets, furniture and clothing.
IVERHART Products are well tolerated. All dogs should be tested for heartworm infection before starting a preventive program. In clinical field trials, the most common adverse reactions, vomiting and diarrhea, were rarely observed (1.1% of doses administered). For more information, ask your veterinarian. The safe use of IVERHART MAX® has not been evaluated in pregnant or lactating dogs. See package insert for full disclosure.
