VIRBAC INTRODUCES BIOMOX® TO ANTIBIOTIC PRODUCT LINE
FORT WORTH, Texas (May 26, 2008) Virbac Animal Health (Virbac) announces a new product in the company’s line of antibiotics for use in the veterinary practice. Biomox® brand of amoxicillin is available in suspension and tablets for the treatment of soft tissue infections.
“Biomox is a broad-spectrum, semisynthetic antibiotic which provides antibacterial activity against a wide range of common gram-positive and gram-negative pathogens,” Dena Ware, Virbac marketing manager, said. Biomox is formulated to aid in the treatment of abscesses, wounds and lacerations due to Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus spp., E. Coli, Proteus mirabilis and Staphylococcus spp. when caused by susceptible strains of microorganisms.
Biomox is available in a 50 mg suspension and 50, 100, and 200 mg tablets. The recommended dosage is 5 mg per body weight, twice a day.
