TWO NEW DENTAL CARE COURSES ARE NOW AVAILABLE ONLINE FOR VETERINARIANS AT VIRBAC’S C.E.T.® UNIVERSITY
FORT WORTH, Texas (December 2009) — Veterinarians interested in building their dental health business can now enroll and receive Continuing Education credit for two new dental chapters in Virbac University’s online C.E.T. Pet Dental Care Module.
“Virbac University is committed to providing continuing education for the veterinary profession. That’s why, along with C.E.T. online dental training, we continue to add in-depth CE courses and topic-specific training from recognized veterinary specialists,” said Denise Skurdalsvold, senior marketing manager for Virbac.
Curt Coffman, DVM, DAVDC, Fellow Academy of Veterinary Dentistry and Andrew J. Rosenfeld, DVM, DAVBP, present the first of the two new courses, “Chapter 5: Developing the Dental Wellness Team.” This course uses the basic steps of a typical pet dental case to walk participants through the development, implementation and evaluation of a well-run dental program by a skilled veterinary team. The course also provides useful, day-to-day details on how to develop a needs list, tips on in-clinic training and client education, as well as how to measure success and make overall improvements.
The second new course, “Chapter 6: Building Dental Compliance,” is presented by Drs. Curt Coffman and Andrew Rosenfeld, and Joey Mistler, LVT. This course expands the meaning of dental compliance to include adherence to a recommended course of treatment by both pet owners and the hospital team. The course outlines all of the integral components of dental compliance, explains how to identify factors that affect compliance, and shows how a commitment to incorporating routine dentistry into the hospital’s day-to-day culture leads to exceptional dental care.
C.E.T. University, a college within Virbac University, is the first online, interactive resource for accessing the latest oral care information for companion animals. After successfully completing the current dental curriculum, Chapters 3 through 6, veterinary and technician professionals can receive one hour of Continuing Education credit for each course. All C.E.T. courses can be found at www.virbacuniversity.com. Virbac University also offers continuing education courses in heartworm prevention, dermatology, canine hypothyroidism, intestinal parasites and developing medical compliance.
